Time to go down memory lane with an NBA timeline of Chris Webber’s NBA career. I’ll try not to mention any kind of “timeout”. :)

One of them is obviously “the dunk” he put on Charles Barkley during his rookie season in Golden State.

Barkley got the last laugh though, as he lit up Webber for 56 points during Game 3 of a Western Conference 1st round playoff series..which led to a Suns sweep.

Once Webber was traded from Golden State, they went 12 consecutive seasons without reaching the playoffs. (That streak ended last April when Golden State clinched a playoff shot on the final day of the regular season.)

His next stop was Washington (was acquired in exchange for Tom Gugliotta), where Webber would be reunited with his old college teammate Juwan Howard. The twosome helped Michigan reach two National Championships in the early 90’s before falling short to Duke & North Carolina. Webber helped end the Bullets’ 9 year playoff drought before they got swept by the Chicago Bulls in 3 games.

Webber’s next stop was in Sacramento, where he had some of the best seasons of his career. One season that stands out in particular is 2001-02, when he helped the Kings win 61 games & make it to the Western Conference Finals, where they lost in 7 tough games to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Webber then went to Philadelphia to become a 2nd scoring option behind Allen Iverson. Webber was able to average a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) during the 2005-06 season despite having little to no explosiveness due to knee surgery.

Last season, Webber got a chance to sign with his hometown Pistons & helped Detroit earn the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference throughout the playoffs. However, Webber was unable to reach his 1st ever NBA Finals as the Pistons lost in 6 games to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Webber stayed out of basketball for the first 2 months of the season before attempting a comeback with Golden State. But with the combination of Golden State’s run & gun offense and Webber’s re-occuring knee problems, he decided to call it quits.

Webber ends his NBA career with 17,182 points, 8,124 rebounds & 3,526 assists. He will definitely be remembered as one of the NBA’s all-time passing forwards.

Maybe he can be a guest on Tyra Banks’ talk show now that he’s retired. Haha just kidding! :)

For those on the West Coast & especially in the Denver, CO area…check this WFC event out that will be hosted by my good friends over at MyWorldofSports.com!
