Star Player of the Game: Seahawks WR D.J. Hackett, who caught 6 receptions for 101 yards & scored 1 touchdown.

 

Redskins WR Santana Moss on his stopped route that led to a 78 yard interception for a touchdown by Seahawks CB Marcus Trufant:

“I thought it was a dead play. Then, all of a sudden I look up and the guy is catching it like a punt. You hate to be in a situation where the ball is coming and you don’t even know it.”

Star Player of the Game: Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew, who rushed 8 times for 29 yards & scored 1 touchdown. Jones-Drew also added 1 reception for 43 yards & 1 touchdown.

Jaguars QB David Garrard on his 32 yard run on 4th & 2 which set up Jacksonville’s game-winning field goal:

“They kind of lost their gaps, they thought pass, I was able to get through there. I just wanted to get a first down. I did enough to get into field-goal range and that was all I was thinking about.”

Star Player of the Game: Giants RB Brandon Jacobs, who rushed 13 times for 34 yards & scored 1 touchdown. Jacobs also caught 2 receptions for 16 yards & scored 1 touchdown.

Giants DE Michael Strahan on his team’s 8-1 record away from Giants Stadium:

“I think as a team we seem to perform better on the road. I didn’t know we won eight in a row. That’s a great thing, because when it’s the playoffs, if we’re going to go as far as we want, we have to win every game on the road.”

Star Player of the Game: Chargers WR Vincent Jackson, who caught 5 receptions for 114 yards & scored 1 touchdown.

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson on winning his first playoff game in 3 tries:

“It didn’t come easy, but I tell you, I’m just happy to get that first one. It’s a relief, but at the same time, it’s not like we’re saying, ‘OK, we won a playoff game, so let’s get ready to lose,’ you know what I mean? I’m already thinking about next week and how tough of a game we’re going to have going to Indianapolis, facing the champs.”

Gotta congratulate Rich “Goose” Gossage on his induction today into the 2008 Baseball Hall of Fame! Gossage actually recorded his 300th save as a member of the Cubs in 1988.
