Star Player of the Game: Colts WR Reggie Wayne, who caught 7 receptions for 168 yards & scored 1 touchdown.

Panthers QB David Carr on the frustration of WR Steve Smith, who was screaming at Carr on the sidelines:

“I’m trying to get him the football. And he’s not necessarily concerned about himself getting the football. He just wants our team to be better. I just went up to him and said, ‘If there’s anything I can do that you see from the wide receiver position that can make us a better team, then let me know.’ We just got talking because we’re too old to keep secrets from each other. And he’s not like that at all. He’ll tell you straight up.”

Star Player of the Game: Lions RB Kevin Jones, who rushed 23 times for 105 yards & scored 1 touchdown.

“We didn’t even know if we were going to have him at all this year. And to have him playing at the high level that he is playing at is great for us.”

Giants DE & London native Osi Umenyiora on playing in the NFL’s 1st regular season game outside of North America:

“We won, so obviously it was worth it.”

Star Player of the Game: Eagles QB Donovan McNabb, who completed 23 of 36 passes for 333 yards, 1 touchdown & no interceptions.

McNabb on his performance:

“I definitely feel like the burst is coming back. That gives me the opportunity to do a lot of different things that I’m used to.”

Star Player of the Game: Browns QB Derek Anderson, who completed 18 of 25 passes for 248 yards, 3 touchdowns & no interceptions.

Browns WR Braylon Edwards on tying a career-high with 8 receptions:

“If I tie my career high, whoop-dee-doo, the big thing is we got the win. We’ve got our heads above water for the first time in a long time.”

Star Player of the Game: Titans RB LenDale White, who rushed 25 times for 133 yards.

Titans head coach Jeff Fisher on winning Sunday’s game despite getting just 42 yards passing from Vince Young:

“We got in a situation today that we had some difficulty throwing the football. They were taking some things away, and (we) had difficulty converting third downs. We hung in there and found a way to win this ballgame.

Chargers LB Shawne Merriman on the pre-game coin toss by California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger:

“He kind of got everybody riled up. He needs to work on his coin flip. He just threw it straight up in the air and it came back down funny. We won, so he must have done something right and it provided some luck to us.”

Star Player of the Game: Jaguars CB Aaron Glenn, who recorded 4 tackles & returned a 2nd quarter interception 28 yards for a touchdown.

Jaguars QB Quinn Gray on his 1st NFL start:

“For some reason I was able to be comfortable. First of all, I knew we were going to run the ball a lot. That was comforting. But at the same time, when my number was called, I was able to deliver a little bit.”

Star Player of the Game: Patriots QB Tom Brady, who completed 29 of 38 passes for 306 yards, 3 touchdowns & no interceptions.

Brady also rushed 4 times for 14 yards & scored 2 touchdowns.

Patriots DE Ty Warren on Sunday’s much-anticipated matchup with the unbeaten Colts:

“You’ve got to block out the noise. If you start reading too much into what’s going on out there outside this locker room, I think the battle’s already lost.”

Star Player of the Game: Saints QB Drew Brees, who completed 31 of 39 passes for 336 yards, 4 touchdowns & no interceptions.

Saints RB Reggie Bush on 49ers QB & close friend Alex Smith’s struggles:

“We grew up together, and it’s tough to see him struggle like that.  But when we’re playing, all bets are off. He’s been a good friend of mine for a long time, and I hope he gets his shoulder back healthy again, but today was all about the Saints.”

Broncos QB Jay Cutler on Favre’s game-winning drive in overtime:

“It’s tough. Come down there tie it up and have a chance to win. First play, they win it. That’s Brett Favre. He’s a quarterback that knows how to win and has been doing it for many years. It’s still tough.”
