Despite the Sky missing the playoffs for the 2nd straight year, they did finish 2007 with a 9 game improvement from their inaugural season.

A lot of this had to do with the coaching change. Dave Cowens coached the Sky in 2006 & led the team to a miserable 5-29 record.
But the Sky improved in 2007 under 1st year head coach Bo Overton & missed the playoffs by just 2 games.
Chicago had two players finish in the top 10 in rebounding with Candice Dupree (5th with 7.7 RPG) & Chasity Melvin (9th with 6.7 RPG).
Dominque Carty finished 10th with 4.1 APG.
Candice Dupree finished 6th with 1.2 BPG.
If the Sky can improve offensively (ranked 10th out of 13 WNBA teams with 74.0 PPG) & their perimeter defense (opponents shot 38.3% from three-point field goal range, which led WNBA), then they could be smelling playoffs for 2008.

As you all know by now, Michael Vick has accepted a plea deal in his dogfighting case that will prevent the NFL star quarterback to face a hefty prison sentence.
Even with a possible light sentence, his NFL future could very well be in doubt.

Former Green Bay Packers GM Ron Wolf is one of the people who thinks Vick should deserve a 2nd chance.

“We’ve had a lot of people in this league do a lot of bad things, and they still got a chance,” Wolf said. “Leonard Little killed someone (while drunk driving). Jamal Lewis went to prison (in connection to) selling drugs. Are you telling me that killing eight dogs is worse than killing a human being? … Yes, this is bad, but are you really telling me that he doesn’t deserve a chance to play again when other people have committed crimes and come back?”

NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell isn’t expected to hand a suspension down on Vick until after August 27th, which is the day Vick officially enters his plea.
Until then,
