bears vs. texans

relaintstadium

Kickoff: 7 PM Saturday Night on NBC.

Usually the pre-season doesn’t serve as a “preview” of what to expect during the regular season.

However, the Bears do have some interesting changes on offense that should be worth watching tomorrow night in Houston.

cbenson

The first change is Cedric Benson at running back. Chicago decided over the off-season to part ways with Thomas Jones, who became the 1st Bear since Walter Payton to record consecutive seasons of 1,200 yards or more rushing.

Now, Benson has his shot of becoming the Bears’ feature back, which will start tomorrow night. Saturday will be Benson’s 1st preseason game, as the 3rd year back missed all of the 2005 preseason with a contract holdout & all of the 2006 preseason with a shoulder injury.

golsen emoorehead

Greg Olsen will make his highly-anticipated Bears debut tomorrow night at tight end. Olsen has been getting rave reviews throughout training camp & has a shot to become the best Bears’ tight end since Emory Moorehead.

dhester

There’s also the addition of the explosive Devin Hester on offense. Hester is hoping he can simulate what fellow 2nd year back Reggie Bush did last season for the Saints.

Bush finished 2nd among running backs with 88 receptions (10th in NFL) & also caught more receptions than some stellar wideouts which include Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Terrell Owens, Anquan Boldin & Steve Smith.

msherman

The Bears will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline tomorrow night. Mike Sherman (Houston’s Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator) spent 6 seasons as head coach of the Green Bay Packers & compiled a 57-39 record.

Until then,
