I’m sure all of you have seen it by now.

Chicago Cubs’ SP Carlos Zambrano & C Michael Barrett got into a dugout brawl yesterday before the Cubs went to bat in the bottom of the 5th inning against the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field.

Zambrano appeared to be the more animated player as he pointed his finger in the direction of Barrett before throwing a punch that appeared to land on Barrett’s face before both teammates were seperated by Cubs players & staff in the dugout.

Barrett was also reportedly taken to a local hospital after the game & received 6 stitches on his lip. The Cubs will sit him today & start Koyie Hill, who was called up yesterday from Triple A Iowa.

Both Barrett & Zambrano are expected to be penalized today by Cubs’ skipper Lou Piniella.

It’s been a rough season so far for the Cubs, who are currently 22-30 & 7.5 games out of 1st place in the NL Central.

Ironically, both Zambrano & Barrett will be free agents after this season. Will the Cubs look to move in other directions? I want to hear your thoughts!

I’ll have a possible Eastern Conference Finals Recap up tonight if Cleveland knocks off Detroit.
Until then,
