This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. What’s up America and the world! I’m so damn tired of writing about 50 Cent’s and Kanye West’s record sales, O.J. Simpson’s embarrassing ass, and Kanye cryin’ back stage… that I’m ’bout to regurgitate. Whatever the case, we ’bout to recap the top ten right quick for last week and shit. Last Top 40 post, Common was at number one for his second week in a row with “The People.” Since then, Keyshia Cole took over the number one spot and has held it down for two weeks of her own with “Let It Go.” Can she hold on for another week? We’re about to find out as we start it off a little somethin’ like this…

T.I. moves into the top ten this week, up four places from number fourteen with “You Know What It Is.” This cat has mad support from the Dirty South, and is on fire in the Midwest as well. I gotta respect the dude, even thought he doesn’t exactly give me goose bumps with his lyrics. I cain’t really hate on him, cause they’re not too many MC’s out there that do indeed give me goose bumps with their lyrics. First week in the top ten.

50 Cent moves up one notch to number nine with “I Get Money.” Dag… his ass is in the top ten so I gotta talk about him… huh? I give props to this joint cause he brought in Milk D on the remix. He also could’ve gotten Missy to say, “They gone mix it with Milk D “Top Billin’” like ddaaaaaammn… that’s hot!” If you don’t get that joke, then laugh now… and come back to read over it again later. Two weeks in the top ten so far.

The “Cupid Shuffle” falls three more places from number five to number eight this week. Peeps be on those line dances like flies on manurer, and this one was requested at least three times a jam when it first came out… sometimes four of five. Unfortunately, that type of overkill made it play out early. We can still get one good play per party from this song, but the flame from the excitement fizzled down before it could get to number one. Cupid made it all the way to number four and this is the sixth week in the top ten for Cupid.

J. Holiday drops one spot to number seven this week. As much as I make fun of the young cats, I gotta admit that this is a catchy little tune to get some coochie off of. The lyrics from “Bed” is something that the ladies wanna hear. Dude says something to the effect of let me reward you for working all week and keeping yourself lookin’ good. That shit has to work, especially if you are lucky enough to have a girl that is true to that. That situation “must be nice.” Four weeks in the top ten.

Know who that is? Take a guess… it’s Kanye West after that last awards show having a temper tantrum
He seemed to out sell 50 Cent from what they say, but I know you don’t care either. This jam is called, “Can’t Tell Me Nuthin’” and I like the video with the slow motion shits and the girl twirling around dressed in all black in the middle of the dessert. Two weeks in the top ten for Kanye to the cry face.

My boy Talib Kweli hung around the top twenty for a long-ass time before leaping into the top ten three weeks ago. He’s all the way up to number five this week with“Hot Thang” and he still has the stamp of one of the better MC’s out there. In fact, he’s one of the only “rappers” with a deal that have truly earned the tittle MC. You’d better ask somebody. Three weeks in the top ten.

UKG is up four places this week to number four, and that most definitely earns them the HOT STAMP. “International Players” is a jam that everybody seems to like, and it features Big Boi and Andre 3000. Ya know… OutKast. Don’t wanna say that they make or break the song, but this song is banging the way its all abstractly set up and what not. There’s a nice little sample going on as well. Four weeks in the top ten so far.

Swizz Beatz holds steady at number three for the second week in a row. I liked this one the very first time I heard it. I have mixed emotions that it has a video all on 106th and Park every day. The good thing is that everyone knows about the song and is familiar with it. The bad thing is that I cain’t bust it out like it is just my little exclusive secret any more. DJ’s enjoyed that a for a moment before the video came out, due to the record pool release months ago. Whatever the case, Swizz Beatz has been in the top ten for seven weeks, and he holds steady at number three this around.

Last week’s number one song is at number two this time around. She was actually at number two on the last chart posted to the web, and after that she then went on to spend the next two weeks at number one. This week, “Let Him Go” has fallen one place to land at number two. Keyshia Cole is singing something I can relate to at this point in my life. Let that shit go if its driving you crazy. Eight weeks in the top ten, and it has been in the top ten longer than any other song this week.
“The People” by Common dropped outta the top ten this week, falling from number four to number eleven. My dog was in the top ten for seven weeks, with two of those weeks at number one.
.

Soulja Boy makes his way to the number one spot this week with “Crank That.” He got the hot line-dance that the youngsters love, and some grandparents even try to do for at least two bars of the chorus. Dude has been on the chart for seven weeks, and this is it’s first week at number one. All congrads due…
Another week, another chart. This kicks off the updates being posted from Schaumburg, IL. Don’t trip… I’m still Hood
It’s a little uncomfortable being the only one asked, “Finding everything okay” or “Need any help” all the freakin’ time as soon as I step into every store… key word there is only. It’s another world, but it’s prolly the smartest thing I’ve ever done as far as finances. Common has another jam rushing up the chart that is at number twelve this week, and we will see if he gets in next time. Okay… I’m gonna post another chart right away if I can get one person that doesn’t already know me to send an email to BMSRadio@yahoo.com to let me know you are reading. I need to know that I have at least one new reader. Anyway, I’m ’bout to bounce. But I’ll catch you on the rebound. Same time, same place. This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. ‘Til next time, don’t bump into the turn tables!
