This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. What’s up America and the world! Last week’s number one song was Jim Jones with “We Fly High.” He snatched the number one spot from Snoop and Kells after they held it down for two weeks. Dude gonna try to hold down the number one spot again, but there are a couple of fine-ass women named Beyonce and Ciara that are tryin’ to stop that. My boy D.O.E. is up another notch in the Top 40 to number thirty-two, and “Listen” by Talib Kweli is still in there at number 36. That song has been on this Top 40 longer than any other current jam, just beating out “Look At Her” by One Chance. We’re gonna check out this week’s chart and see what the streets on my hood are feeling. Let us start it off a little somethin’ like this…

Songs 11-40 here

Number 10

Jeezy falls four places to number ten this week with “I Love It”, but don’t be mad at that. This song has made an excellent run at the top ten. It made it as high as number four, and even better still… it has been in the top ten four eight weeks. Among other things, Jeezy is poppin’ up in more remixes and collaborations than prolly R. Kelly. He ain’t doin’ bad at all right now.

Number 9

Akon and Snoop Dog move into the top ten this week with “I Wanna Love You.” You gotta here the album version of this song. If you haven’t heard it yet, I’m gonna ruin it for you right now. Instead of, “I wanna looove you…,” he sings, “I wanna fuuuuck you… ” I put that on the other day and the young adults loved it. It like gave them a boost of adrenalin or somethin’. This cut was at number eleven last week, and it moves up two spots to get a picture in the top ten. I don’t usually give any love to Akon . In fact, this is the first time he has been in the top ten on a song in which he was the lead artist. He gets a nice response from the crowd so I can no longer deny him. First week in the top ten.

Number 8

Up two spots this week is Rich Boy with “Throw Some D’s.” This has got to be one of my favorite joints out there right now, and more proof that the Dirty South is no doubt the most visible region in Hip-Hop right now. You cain’t help but to bounce around to they shit, and this square-head-negro has a nice little jingle on his hands. He looks so funny in the video with them damn sunglasses and that wife-beater, that it is cool as hell. Two weeks in the top ten.

Number 7

These cats have made it cool to throw money up in the air at parties. “Make It Rain” is up one spot this week to number seven, and I was blown away the firs time I saw this happen. I dunno how smart it is to throw money in the air in a crowded room full of broke people… seems like that should be a fire violation or somethin’. Whatever the case, these cats have once again started a trend. In case you don’t know, this is the same camp that made the term “bling-bling” famous. Baby featuring Lil’ Wayne are in the top ten for the second week as well.

Number 6

Jay Z moves up another space to number six with “Lost One.” Ain’t no secret as to the peeps he are talkin’ bout in this song. I swear up and down that Beyonce has some derogatory music out there pointed at Jigga, and I know she threw the dynasty sign in that “Ring The Alarm” video. Now, I guess he gets a chance to tell his side of the story as well. This beat is kinda old school to me, and I like this cut a lot better than his first release this trip. Four weeks in the top ten for this one so far.

Number 5

Ciara falls three spaces from number two to number five this week with “Promise.” It looks like this cut is on the way down, but who knows what may happen now that the remix is out with R. Kelly. I checked out Ciara’s video today and I have come to the conclusion that I would have sex with her if given the chance. For real. She’s an attractive, legal young lady and I know that Bow-Wow wasn’t hittin’ that right. This video is real tight… especially when she is bending over that chair with them fuck-me-pumps on. Yes sir! I would hit that if given the chance. Six weeks in the top ten.

Number 4

Snoop and Kells fall one place to number four this week with “That’s That.” I certainly didn’t really feel this one at first, but it grew on me and everybody else. I suppose it is Snoop and Kells for cryin’ out loud. This cut spent two weeks at number one and it has been in the top ten for nine weeks. That is longer than any other jam this week, so this is officially a hit if you will. R. Kelly should do an all-star Hip-Hop CD, don’t you agree?

Number 3

Robin Thick ain’t no punk at all, and this cat looks just like his daddy. Yes sir… for those of you who didn’t know, this is the son of Allen Thick from Growing Pains. No joke. The ladies, and everybody for that matter is going crazy for “Lost Without You.” This cut is liked by both young and old, tall and short, and by the fat and the skinny. Gotta say that I’m impressed. Five weeks in the top ten for this one.

Number 2

This cut actually fell outta the top ten for a couple weeks, then came back on and now its all the way up to number two. Wow. “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce has had a very strong showing. Earlier, this sing fell outta the top ten after only two weeks as it landed at number 16. However, the following week it picked up enough point to move up two places to number fourteen, and the following week she picked up enough momentum to most definitely move her from number fourteen back into the top ten to number five. She’s made her way up to number two now with a grand total of five weeks in the top ten. Plus, I decided years ago that I would get it on with Beyonce if given the opportunity.

Songs that bossed outta there this week

“Hip-Hop Is Dead” by NAS fell outta the top ten from number nine to number 21. Is Hip-Hop dead? I’ve hated that conversation for well over fifteen years now. Tried to entertain the thought of it when this song came out, but I still cain’t do it. Spent two weeks in the top ten.

And Now…

Number 1

For the second week in a row, “We Fly High (Ballin’)” by Jim Jones is in the number one spot. Seven weeks in the top ten, and it was sorta like destiny if you will. This cut was on everybody’s tongue when it first hit the streets, and now everybody and their parents are familiar with with it. It’s almost like we’re not impressed anymore, but it has enough juice to at least hold on for another week at number one. All congrads due…

Add to favorites, and slide through next week!

Another week, another chart. Lookin’ like there’s a new Monday Night spot. It’s like on 56th & Ashland at the 3Brothers lounge. Come holla a t a brotha as I’m DJing the 9′oclock show every week. “Ice Box” by Omarion also fell from the top ten a couple weeks ago, but radio airplay may get him back in to the top ten next week…maybe. Bow-Wow has an up and comming cut with R. Kelly, and Amarie is back in the top 40 this week at number twenty-six with her new jam. I definitely like that act… and I would have sex with her if given the chance. Be sure to get back next week and check out the chart as it unfolds. Thank you very much for sliding through. See you next week. Same time, same place. This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. ‘Til next time, don’t bump into the turn tables!
