This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. What’s up America and the world! Got a nice U-Hype episode comin’ up this week that introduces our two new BlogSquad members. Be sure to download or stream the show to your desktop so you can meet my homies… “Janono-Good” and “FoxBrownFox.” We are also gonna get up with Matt T to see what’s goin’ on in sports. Meanwhile, Pharrell and Kanye made it to number one last week and we are about to see if they can do it again. Got that full top 40 for ya to check out so let’s not hesitate any longer as we start it off a little somethin’ like this…
Songs 11-40 here.

These peeps’ record was played on U-Hype as unsigned artist, however they got a deal now. Movin’ up nine places this week is DJ Webstar and Young B with “Chicken Noodle Soup.” Yes, it’s the latest dance to sweep the country! (I feel like Wolfman Jack talkin’ ’bout the Twist and shit). Straight-up though, Webstar and Young B are from Uptown, New York and this cut ripped the East Coast on mixtapes, and every kid in the hood did the dance. If you haven’t seen it yet, be warned that this is a dance for the youngsters. I’ll be the first to testify that once you get well into your thirties, Steppin’ is plenty of exercise :) Of course I got my own grown-up version of the dance that I do, but there are plenty of clips out there on the net to get an example. Just hit that Google search for “Chicken Noodle Soup dance” and check it out. First week in the top ten.

Cassie moves her pretty little self up one spot this week and lands at number nine. This is her second week in t he top 10 after hanging around the top 20 for weeks and what-not. Bad Boy …huh? I can really just cut and paste what I wrote about her from last week. I ain’t trippin’ that she hasn’t called me yet. I mean… I guess that there is a slight chance that she did not actually see this site last week… but that’s okay. So if you see it this week baby, hit me on the email so I can holla at you :) I’ll let the rest of y’all know what happens when she hits me. Two weeks in the top ten for Cassie.

Busta and Rick are up one spot as well with “Ghetto Life.” I hate the fact that Rick James is gone, but I am happy that he had a little resurgence of popularity thanks to his involvement with the Dave Chappel Show. “Cocaine is a hell of a drug.” Though his life was way too short, I’m glad he got to see his name in lights again like it was the seventies. At the same time, we are lucky to be able to enjoy this song. Second week in the top ten.  Â

Young Joc also moves up one spot with “I Know You See It.” I don’t get the chance to listen to commercial radio a lot these days, but I was in the car with somebody else and I heard the new afternoon team on WGCI play “I Know You See It,” then they played the theme from Sesame Street immediately afterwards… and it was funny as hell. You gotta admit the the hook from this song goes “inny-meeny-miney-moe.” I think that has been in the children’s top ten for about a hundred years now. The biggest thing about this cut is that I thought that it was cute as I don’t know what when I heard my four-year-old nephews singing this out loud accapella. For that, it gets the Hot Stamp. Two weeks in the top ten so fare for Young Joc this trip.

Janet is still in the top ten and up to number six this week. Janet Jackson is an expert on being Janet Jackson, and she’s been able to make a living doing that her entire life. I ain’t mad at her at all for doing that, but you gotta admit that she is not the greatest vocalist in the world and she’s not exactly Halle Berry in front of the camera when is comes to the thespian skills either. Nevertheless, we have accepted her in our homes every since she walked out on the stage during those Jackson TV specials. One of America’s all time favorite May West imitators. And once she was of legal age, she is one person that every straight man in the country has fantasized about at least once. Excuse me for a moment ladies… Gentlemen, let’s all raise our petroleum jelly to the sky and salute her! Feel free to download the pic to your cell phone. Four weeks in the top ten four “Call On Me” featuring Nelly. Who sings the best between Nelly and Janet? :) I have ssooooo much fun writing about Janet

E-40 moves up one spot to number five this week. I cain’t say enough negative things about T-Pain, but I’m gonna try to refrain from dissin’ this kid this week. I like the little catchy tune, and I’m more pleased with the fact that E-40 is getting more much deserved spotlight, than I am that he’s doin’ it with a straight up pop artist. Really though. I know I wasn’t suppose to diss, but I’m waiting to catch this dude sayin’ just one thing outta pocket so I can be all over him. Meanwhile, this is week number three for E-40 and T-Pian in the top ten and they are all the way up to number five. Yea, I do drink Hator-Aid for some peeps.

Spot number four belongs to OutKast. They drop one place and land at number four this time around with “Mighty O.” I heard that their movie only came in at number nine this week. However, I also heard that a lot of people went to the movie to see Idlewild but where given Invinsible tickets. Meanwhile, Invinsable was the number one movie this past week. Hhhmmmm…. That speaks for itself. I’m gonna have to put my sixteen bucks in the pot and go see this movie now… and I hope that they do give me the wrong ticket. I’m just itching to be angry Black man :) I’ll let you know what happens.  Five weeks in the top ten.

Okay… now the maintenance guys are right up under the window cutting the grass. I promise I thought they were messing with me the first time I heard them cut the grass when I first moved to Justice. It’s like a tree outside my door, so they go around that mug like six times… loud-than-a-mug. There are times I wanna just throw a grenade out the window towards maintenance, and then go upstairs, shake the sh!t outta my young neighbor, and scream in his face, “I AM TRYING TO WORK YOU A$$HOLE!!!” These are the draw backs of having your studio in a hood residence area. Anyway. Beyonce and Jay hold steady at number two this week with “De Ja Vue.” Six weeks in the top ten.
“Bossy” by Kelis fell outta the top ten this week. She was up in there for seven weeks, and she spent two of those weeks at number one.

Pharrell and Kanye do it again. For the second week in a row, they are at number one with “Number One.” I’m sorry, but I cain’t help but talk about what’s going on around me this week cause I cain’t concentrate. The dudes cutting the grass are gone for now, but the kid from upstairs is still getting on my d@mn nerves. If I had a quarter ounce of weed, I would go up there, knock on his door and say, “I know we have had our differences…” While those of you who haven’t seen Hustle & Flow try to figure out what I’m talkin’ bout, we can extend our big-ups to two of the up-front producers of our time comin’ with the collaboration. Good job fellas, and all congrads due…
Another week, another chart. Thank you! It seems like my upstairs neighbor just turned it down a little. Still not low enough to do the show, but at least my ears ain’t ringing from his base. I’m 35, and I know I’m gonna have to unfortunately retire from doing parties way sooner than I want because of what the loud music has done to my hearing over the years. And through my irritated ears, his music straight-up irks the filt, florn, foul, florn outta me. Wow. Here come the maintenance guy again. I think they are doin’ this on purpose. Lloyd Banks is tryin’ to make some noise on the chart in the future, and Knarls has a song that will not go away. You hear them sh!ts in the grocery store and on every radio station. I thought it was somethin’ from like the seventies until I just kept, kept hearing it everywhere. We will know if he makes his way into the top ten next week, as well as other cuts out there. Be sure to check out Songs 11-40 here. Meanwhile, I’m gonna check y’all out hopefully tonight on the U-Hype show (episode XXIV) so we can meet Janono-Good and FoxBrownFox. I’m gonna see you next week. Same time, same place. This is DJ Special Blend from Chicago. ‘Til next time, don’t bump into the turn tables!
